TashaTattleTale: Mama! Mama! The kitty has a rock.
Awesomeness: Uh. The kitty has a rock? Is that what you said?
TashaTattleTale: Yeah! The kitty has a rock.
Awesomeness: Okaaaaay. Thanks for letting me know.
I look at the cat, who does not appear to have anything that even remotely looks like a rock. I have no idea what this kid is talking about.
TashaTattleTale: The kitty sit on himself.
Awesomeness: What the wha? The kitty sat on herself?
TashaTattleTale: Yeah, he was on the stairs and he sat on himself.
Duly noted.....
A few minutes later:
TashaTattleTale: We need go wash my foot. It's stinky.
Awesomeness: How did your foot get stinky?
TashaTattleTale: Kitty peed the floor and I step in it.
Awesomeness: .......
I had her show me where the alleged cat pee was and there was nothing. Odd.
About a half an hour later the kids' speech therapist came over and the cat decided she was going to be friendly today. This is when I noticed a piece of crap stuck to the cat's butt.
"The kitty sit on himself." Yes, she did indeed shit on herself. I'm also thinking we solved the mystery of the "rock" the kitty had. The cat pee? I haven't found it yet and I'm not looking for it.

That's Disgusting! or Look At Me! I'm A Total Copycat!
I was reading someone else's blog just a minute ago. They listed the top 5 most disgusting things their kids ever ate. I guess I was imagining something horrific based on my experience with my own GarbagePailKids. I was disappointed that her list contained nothing but food items. I'm also ashamed to admit that I have eaten 2 of those items and think a 3rd actually sounded good.
So, in true copycat fashion, here's my top 5 disgusting things I've seen my kids eat:
So, in true copycat fashion, here's my top 5 disgusting things I've seen my kids eat:
- Rug strings. I may have mentioned a few times that we have a shag rug. My preschooler enjoys picking those strings out, wadding them into a ball, and chewing on them. Now I can't say for sure that she actually swallows them, but I can say that it wouldn't surprise me.
- Foam letters. The kind that you buy for your kids to stick to the bathroom wall. Alone, they are unusual food items, but not terribly disgusting. Until you consider that little kids piss in the tub all the time. My little kids especially.
- Cat hair. Both my kids have done this. They don't even wait for the hair to die of natural causes and fall off the cat. They just grab a handful right off the kitty and jam it right into their mouth.
- Toy cars. The wooden kind. My kids are part beaver I think.
- Dead bugs. Needs no clarification.

Cat Grabber
For a 7 month old, a cat is probably the coolest thing in the entire world. For a cat, a 7 month old must be the most terrifying thing in the entire world. I know she's fuzzy and she makes the coolest noises ever. Especially when you grab her head and pull it in 2 different directions. I don't think that the kitty has nearly as much fun as you.
Your sister had to learn the hard way with a rabid swipe to the cheek that the kitty is not always nice. I don't think I want Kitty to have to experience this again. She's a very friendly, snuggly cat. She's just not interested in getting manhandled.
For now, the kitty is off limits. Disappointment will have to be your friend instead.
